money

It is argued that having a job you love is the most important thing in life. After all, what is the point of working as hard as we do if it only makes us miserable? However, sad as it is, money matters. This essay agrees with the given statement.

Job satisfaction is a secondary consideration when it comes to a person’s career. While a person might love their current job and feel that it is the perfect fit for them personally, things change fast. To illustrate, unpredictable forces like inflation, recessions, and natural disasters can force companies to lay off employees or cut their wages.

In theory, people should be able to enjoy their work regardless of external factors, but the truth is that external factors cannot be controlled. For instance, if a company is acquired by a larger organization and there is a change in management, people might not be content.

Additionally, job satisfaction is a subjective feeling that cannot be measured objectively. It is so personal that one person’s happiness may be another’s misery. For example, some people love working in offices with other people around them, while others hate it.

In conclusion, for a high percentage of the population, when choosing a career, it is important to consider income and job security. While job satisfaction is important, people prefer to take a job that pays well. People have bills to pay, families to support, and mortgages to pay off. It is easier to do this when they are receiving a steady income.
