You are planning a holiday abroad and will be visiting a town where an old friend lives. You haven't spoken to this friend in a few years.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
- Give your friend a brief update on your life since you were last in touch
- Explain why you will be traveling to his/her town.
- Say what you plan to do when you visit their town.

Dear Helen,
I’m writing to let you know that I will be traveling to Edinburgh in a few months.
So much has happened since the last letter that I will quickly get you up to speed before we discuss the trip. The main development is that Jamie and I are now officially engaged. He got down on one knee to make the proposal even more romantic. We sincerely hope you can attend the wedding scheduled for June of next year. In addition, we recently moved in together after purchasing a flat.
Our trip is a two-week coach tour of Scotland. Although we spend the majority of our time in the Highlands and on the west coast, on May 12 we will spend the entire day in Edinburgh.
The vacation includes a morning tour of Edinburgh Castle with a guide, but the rest of the day is our own. If you can join us somewhere for tea, it would be fantastic to catch up with you. Let me know if you can make it.
